How Molpure ITLC SG Strips Elevate 225Ac QC
Actinium-225 is rapidly transforming targeted alpha therapy (TAT), but reliable QC remains a major bottleneck. Subtle differences in chromatography media can dramatically change peak shape, background noise, and daughter-nuclide visibility — all of which directly influence radiochemical purity (RCP) assessment.
To help radiopharmacies and researchers achieve higher confidence in their 225Ac QC workflows, a collaborating Molpure customer generously shared performance data comparing Molpure ITLC SG (SG TLC-100 and SG TLC-400) versus the Biodex/Agilent iTLC-SG control strip. All chromatograms were generated using a LabLogic ScanRAM radio-TLC scanner with saline mobile phase, after 18 hours of strip equilibration.
The results show a consistent, meaningful advantage for Molpure’s binder-free SG membranes in resolution, peak symmetry, and daughter radionuclide visibility. Additional studies are now underway to further expand our understanding of 225Ac behavior across different chelates, conditions, and QC workflows.
